Did I always know that I wanted to be an artist?
Becoming an artist is never a straight line…everyone finds their own way. For me, that journey began after years spent working in publishing, traveling across Canada and abroad while always feeling a quiet pull toward creativity and the natural world.
In my mid thirties, I finally decided to listen. I began to make more time for painting and exploring my creative side. On a whim, I painted a scene from Steveston Village, a quaint coastal fishing village where I was living at the time, and entered it into a local gallery show. To my amazement, it was accepted, placed in the window — and sold! That moment lit the spark, and I haven’t stopped painting since.
I am so grateful to be on this artistic path. Now, I spend my days in my Delta studio, minutes from Ladner Village, capturing the beauty and rhythm of the West Coast in colourful, expressive works that celebrate the landscapes I love most.
“I paint where imagination meets realism. My studio is a joyful space to create, interpret, and express nature through colour and shape.”
“With each brushstroke, I explore energy and movement. My art is a colourful dance as I capture how nature is a reflection of our emotions and experiences. It all begins with an idea.”
Rooted in the beauty of the West Coast, each piece I create is inspired by forest trails, ocean air, and the ever-changing light of nature.
